Best moments of 2013

With new year around the corner and the year 2013 going to end soon.

It makes me feel nostalgic thinking about of the all the highs and lows of the year. Some good memories and some not so good memories. I thought that it would be a good idea to pen down some of my best moments of 2013 as I wrap up the year.

#1: New Year – Andaman

The year started with a family get together at Andaman. White sandy beaches, azure water and endless varieties of sea food.

#2: Approval of Visa :

I know its not a big deal, but I was about to meet my better half after 3 months (we still debate as to who the better half is :P). I was really happy when my visa to the USA was approved.

#3: First snowfall of the year  :

The moment I stepped out of the plane at London Heathrow airport, tiny flakes came floating from the sky to welcome me. I know that sounds too cliched. The feeling of first snowfall of the year was magical. Though I have seen snow at a lot of places like Gangtok, Kashmir and Manali but had never had the experience of snow fall.It was the first of many of them that later I got to experience during my stay in the USA.

#4: At the city that never sleeps – New York :

The feeling of rambling around fifth avenue is less said than experienced. Alleys of luxurious showroom on both the sides, inviting and ready to burn a hole in your wallet. The changing colours of empire state building, to the ice skating happy souls at Rockefeller center, devouring the yummy street food to the bustling Times Square the list is endless that makes you fall in love with the city again and again.

Scary and exciting as we stepped on the glass deck of the tallest skyscraper of Chicago and one of its kind in the world. The Chicago down town and Michigan lake looked stunning from the Skydeck.

#6: Experiencing the Underground Cavern,Virginia :

This was a experience of a kind ,when the entire east coast was blanketed with snow and extremely freezing.300 feet under the ground there was a different world, colourful, cosy and warm. Cave formations of limestone lit in beautiful coloured lights at Shenandoah Caverns,Virginia
