Blissful Seclusion

Whiling away time in my balcony overlooking the pool and staring at the star filled skies, I just had one wish “if time could just stop”. If paradise is nothing more than a state of mind then yes we are at a paradise hidden at one of the sleepy tropical destinations of Thailand – Khao Lak, pristine but remote.

JW Marriott Resort Khaolak Review

Pool at JW

At a seaside sojourn, and a vast sprawling pool that flows throughout the resort like a serpent, looks stunning in the fading evening light. The pool is hailed to be South-east Asia’s longest swimming pool.

Three days just passed like a wink of the eye and on the last day penning this post makes me feel sad that unbridled pampering and romance is soon going to end. We had a fabulous stay and not to mention the impeccable service which left us craving for more.

We spent our time dipping in the pool and sipping varieties of cocktails 😉

Walking hand in hand at the golden beach glittering in the sunshine to relaxing thai massage at the shore watching waves break.

Set against backdrop of lush greenery and waves gently lapping the beach, JW Marriott Resort and Spa ,Thailand introduces guests to a flawless service, on-site fine dining, great facilities and of course the spa – waiting to cater to your every need, the resort has all the ingredients for a perfect romantic holiday.

Chasing away the stress of the city ,it’s a perfect place to unwind.

We arrived at noon and  were welcomed by the super-friendly concierge team who whisked us to the lobby of the resort for the check in. We were served with a welcome drink and wet towels and after a quick check in, we walked towards our room which was at one end of the resort. The room was quite far from the lobby but pretty close to the pool and dining area.

Rooms :

When we entered the room the first thing that we noticed was the beautiful lighting in the room and the beautiful patio with three huge sofas overlooking the pool bar and the swimming pool. It felt as if we had left the mundane life behind us. The room had a TV, an awesome high speed internet connection. There was a huge queen size bed and a day bed with complimentary fruit basket. The wardrobes were big and spacious. The mini bar was well stocked. The bathroom was huge especially the bath tub and two wash basins. There was also a separate shower area.

Pool :

One of the striking feature of the resort. There are two huge swimming pools at JW. One of the pool  runs throughout the resort like a serpent and can be easily accessible by all the pool access room and villas, with a small pool bar  – Aquamarine at the centre which closes by 6:30 PM local time. The other pool faces the beach and is a little more deeper. The pool bar –Infinity, is bigger and is open till late in the evening. Both the swimming pools have jacuzzi. We did spend a lot of time in the pool swimming, playing, lazing and drinking  at the pool bar. It was just too convenient to order your favourite cocktail being in the pool 😉

Food :

This resort had multiple cuisines to offer. The best of them was the breakfast spread at the Waterfront restaurant. The one that was my personal favourite was the Deli with the variety of sandwiches and wraps that they offer. Unfortunately we could not try the other restaurants apart from Waterfront and Deli, as we relied on in room dining. The pool bars had variety of cocktails and mocktails to offer.

Nothing can be better than sipping your favourite drink and watching the setting sun from Czar bar. Other dining options were Ta-Krai, for Thai – “Sakura” and Japanese – “Olive” .

Facilities :

The resort has a Kids Club, Souvenir shop,Spa and other indoor and outdoor game facilities like beach volley.Day trips and packages for sight seeing can be booked from the resort itself.

Private Beach

Housekeeping & Staff :

The staff were very friendly and they always had a smile on their face. The “At Your Service” was fabulous. We complained about the internet to be not working in our room and the housekeeping team did setup a separate router in our room which solved our problem in a span of 30 minutes.

Location :

If you happen to be like a calm and quiet place then this is the place to be, away from the crowd of backpackers. You can watch the setting sun sink below the horizon of the Andaman sea or laze at the day lounger under palm trees doing nothing at the beautiful Khuk Khak beach. The location can be a bummer for party freaks as the resort is 7 Km from the city center. There are no pubs or discotheque near the resort.

Do we recommend ?

Yes, definitely. The resort is ideal for couples and families. If you’re looking for a ultimate resort for comfort, pampering and seclusion, look no further than JW Marriott resort and spa.

Tan but happy !!!

Major Attraction at Khaolak :

  • Diving & Snorkelling : Similan Island
  • WaterFalls : Sairung Waterfall , Chong Fah Waterfall
  • Temples : Wat Khrom Me Nee Ya Khet
