If you are looking for a laid-back island escape — speckled with beautiful boulder-strewn beaches, azure waters, breathtaking sunsets, palm trees, and on top of it all of it accessible by bike or foot; La Digue Island, Seychelles fits the bill perfectly. With just a handful of cars allowed on the island, this is the perfect island to escape to do literally NOTHING.

TOP THINGS TO DO IN LA DIGUE ISLAND, SEYCHELLES

Take it easy, relax on the picture-postcard beaches of La Digue. Each one is more stunning than the other.

Rent a Bike

The best way to explore the island is either on a bike or on foot. We highly recommend renting a bike.

Island hopping & Watersports

Don’t forget to pack your snorkel gear and enjoy your time snorkeling at the pristine beaches of Seychelles. There are also island-hopping trips to nearby islands from La Digue. The prices range around 100-150 $.

Hike Nid d’Aigle

The highest point in La Digue, this hike is a great way to spend a day. But a word of caution the hike is pretty exhausting and steep. But the good part is that you can book yourself dinner or a cocktail at the restaurant and watch the sunset and enjoy an amazing cocktail or dinner. There is a free taxi that is organized by the restaurant that picks you from your hotel. ( Word of caution: The food was okay and it was not worth the money but the view was amazing.)

Explore Pristine Beaches

As soon as you hit the beach the worries of the modern world will melt away in an instant. Anse Source D’Argent is the most talked about and most visited beach of the island, part of the L’Union Estate which is open to the public. The entry fee per adult is 100/- SCR.

The beaches in the north of the island are calmer as compared to the east coast. Beaches like Anse SevereAnse Patates are easy to reach and are a great spot for snorkeling and swimming.

Anse Cocos is only accessible by foot and to reach Petite Anse and Grand Anse there is a steep climb.
