1. How to reach Lautersee from Munich?
Mittenwald is well connected by both train and road from Munich. And from Mittenwald you can easily reach Lautersee.
By Public Transport from Munich?
By Train: There are direct trains from Munich to Mittenwald. There are buses that take you directly to the lake. We would recommend the Bayern Ticket if you are traveling as a couple or a group of 5 from Munich. You can also use your Deutschlandticket (49 Euro ticket) to travel to Mittenwald.
Note: There are hiking and guest buses in summer and ski and cross-country skiing buses in winter free of charge. With your AlpenweltCard or your Alpenwelt Karwendel guest card, all trips with the hiking and guest bus between Mittenwald – Lautersee/ Klais Elmau / Kranzbach – Krün and Wallgau are free.
By Car from Munich?
You can take the A95 route to drive from Munich to Mittenwald. It will take you about two hours to reach Mittenwald from Munich by car. There is a parking lot next to the lake. From here you can walk to the lake.
