Soothing sounds of waves breaking at the shores, the pitter patter of rain, the chirping of birds woke me up to an oasis of paradise, an escape that I had been longing for a while, after a gruelling month of juggling between the hospital and home. The smell of the earth drenched with rain added an aroma to the lush greenery of the sprawling property located on the shores of silver beaches of Varca. Varca happens to be one of the cleanest beaches in South Goa. Tucked away from the maddening crowd of North Goa, this beautiful property is spread across 23 acres with swaying palm trees, a golf course, a heavenly pool, white sandy beaches and everything that transports you to a world of luxury. In this post you will find a detailed review of Ramada Caravela Resort.
Welcome :
The first thing that one notices about the resort is the grandeur of the entrance. From the moment we stepped out of the car the concierge team was quick to take our luggage and guided us to a grand open lobby which is beautifully designed and fitted with high arches and wooden beams, a reflection of old Goan style architecture. There were chandeliers and candle holders placed in every corner with artificial cascading waterfalls creating a mesmerizing and soothing effect. The check-in process was completed before we could even finish our welcome drink.
Rooms :
We were taken to our deluxe room which was cozy and beautifully designed. The resort has 199 rooms, which are categorized as Garden View, Pool/Ocean View & Ocean Front, Deluxe Suites, Family Villa and Presidential Villa and all the rooms are endowed with private balconies offering a spectacular view of the ocean, overlooking lush landscaped gardens or the swimming pool. Our room was a pool facing room. The patio is a perfect place to laze around with a book in hand watching kids jumping into the pool.
Pool :
A beautiful pool with a swim up bar right at the center of the resort was the highlight of our stay which served cocktails and beverages. Now, who does not want a sip and dip at the same time in the pool. We spent most of our time enjoying the monsoon in Goa.
Food :
Breakfast was a lavish affair with a mix of Indian and Continental spread. Dinners were accompanied with soulful live music and distinctive culinary delights were definitely worth a try. We tasted the famous Goan Bread Pao and Prawn curry suggested by the staff at Cafe Casada. The food quantity was good and tasty. Though with the onset of monsoon the shacks at the beach and other seasonal cafes were closed.
Spa & Yoga:
Sit back and relax as the therapist pampers you with a rejuvenating Ayurvedic spa. The resort has dedicated Ayurveda doctors offering free consultation with yoga and meditation courses. The doctors will examine you and then suggest personalized treatments based on herbal oils and extracts. Don’t forget to make the most of it whilst your stay at the resort.
Facilities :
There is a multitude of activities that are organized in the resort to keep the young to the old occupied and content. From face painting to Volleyball matches. From cycling tour to golf and for all party animals there is also state-of-the-art discotheque on Saturdays. They even have pottery classes, a great way to keep your kids engaged or an excuse to try your hands learning something new during a vacation or experience the thrilling gambling sessions at the in-house casino – Goa Nugget! Unfortunately, the casino was closed during our stay. 🙁
Location :
The resort is at a distance of 30 kms from Dabolim Airport, 10 kms from Margao Railway Station and 10 kms from Margao Bus Stand. Located near Varca beach, the resort is a perfect place to relax and rejuvenate. For sightseeing and other transportation services, one is completely dependent on what the resort has to offer. The tours for South Goa and North Goa are priced between 2.5 K to 5 K which can be booked at the reception though there is a shack at the entrance of the hotel from where you can rent out bikes and soak in the beauty of Goa in the monsoon.
Do we recommend a stay here?

Looks like you really enjoyed your stay here… I like the greenery alone, just feel it must be costly the stay plus of you want to tour North and South Goa got to spend even more… if you have the money, guess this will be a good choice for a vacation for sure!!… One thing I liked here is the fact that you mentioned that the resort has activities for the young and old, so varietiful and cool.
