Some resorts are more than just a resort. They are a destination in itself. And, if you are planning to eschew the hubbub, where you don’t want to tear yourself away from the resort, look no further than Ayana Resort & Spa Bali. Located in Jimbaran Bay, the resort is spread across 90 hectares with world-class facilities, luxurious accommodation, stunning spa, a bar offering sweeping views of the psychedelic blue sea and guaranteed stunning sunsets every other day.
Ayana Resort & Spa Bali needs no introduction. It is one of the most luxurious properties in Bali. The moment you enter the resort your head will turn all side as there are so many nooks each prettier than the other and all of the stuff of Instagram legend.
The highlight of our stay at Ayana Resort & Spa was taking too many dips in the pool, watching the sun paint the sky while sipping our favorite cocktail and tapping our feet to the music while watching the waves dance and a 2- hour long session in the Aquatonic pool soothing all our muscles.
Nestled in 90 acres of beautifully landscaped tropical grounds and laced with a stunning beach, Ayana Resort & Spa is the right blend of luxury, comfort, location, and service. The perfect destination for working on the tan, setting for intimate, personalized wedding celebrations or a dreamy way to disconnect from the world in the super luxurious Ayana villas.
– Welcome –
As we stepped out of the car, we were greeted by garlands and were ushered to the reception lobby. No wonder it was crowded as there were too many people checking in, checking out as well as waiting to hop on the buggy for the beach and the spa. Amidst all these, before we could even finish our kiwi juice our check-in process was complete and we were informed that we had been upgraded to the ridiculously luxurious Jimbaran suite.
– Jimbaran Suite –
We had a spring in our step as we headed towards our suite escorted by one of the staff. The moment we stepped into the suite, we instantly fell in love with its timeless theme, spaciousness, plush interiors, opulent king size bed, with the tub with floating flower petals right in the middle of the mind-blowing bathroom. The only thought that came to my mind was – Wish I could just stay here forever.
The suite is beautifully orchestrated. Each and every piece just perfectly blends in the creamy shade that flows around the suite and pop of purple and blue thrown in gives an elegant touch. The bed comes with fabric upholstered and tufted headboard and the room is punctuated with dark wooden furniture that makes it looks classy and transports you to regal opulence.
The floor-to-ceiling glass window pours out to the landscaped garden from both the living area as well as the bedroom, the vanity room and bathroom with all the sumptuous toiletries, candles, bath salts assures that you are pampered to the hilt.
– Dining –
The resort offers one of the best breakfast spread at Padi — variety by dozens, large selection of dishes, freshly baked items, freshly squeezed juices, in fact, they also have a counter for tender coconut. We were muddled where to start and where to end as there was so much on offer.
There are 18, yes 18 unique dining option sprinkled all around the resort offering different views and cuisines. You actually have to grab a map and pick the ones that satiate your taste. Check the map. HERE
Rock Bar was the place we visited consecutively two evenings during our stay. Perfect place to watch shallow translucent blue waters that roll up onto the sand, the sun painting the sky and fabulous drink and playful dishes for company. No wonder it is the one of the most popular Bar in Bali both among tourists as well as locals.
( Note: You don’t have to be guests of the resort to visit Rock Bar but yes, advance booking for a table is highly recommended. And the best time to book is during the sunset and make sure you reach on time.)
For seafood lovers, Kisik Bar & Grill & Dava are the best. Sami Sami is for Italian Cuisines and for the stunning view overlooking private Kubu Beach – Warung Kubu is the one you should head to.
Check the below slide show of all the stunning dining option the resort offers:
– Amenities & Activities –
Whether you’re the type who likes to laze around the pool, prefers to bake on the sand or keep yourself active throughout. There are plenty of options on-site for all your whims.
Infinity Pool or say Pools:
Not just one but Ayana resort has 7 immaculate pools to keep you occupied. Plop yourself on any of the day beds or dip in the infinity pool and watch the dance of waves below. We had so much fun hopping from one pool to other.
Ayana Main Pool, Lower Pool, Kids Pool, Ocean Beach Pool and River Pool. In addition to these, you can also visit all the pools of Rimba Jimbaran Bali. Isn’t that cool.
Rock Bar –
Watching the last rays of sun softly flicker creating a stunning canvas and watch the dance of waves as you drink in an enviable view of the ocean.
Spa On The Rocks
The resort has a superb spa, tucked away amid the gentle sights and sounds of the ocean. Let the picture do the talking.
This was definitely one of a kind for us. Imagine soothing all your muscles by exercising your way through 12 hydro massage stations. We had our hearty lunch and slipped into our swimwear for a spa like no other and came out all relaxed and rejuvenated after a 2-hour session, swimming, jumping from one station to other, working on different parts of the body – thigh, hip, ankle you name it 😉
“The spa contains 700 million liters of water directly supplied from the underlying Indian Ocean and warmed to optimum temperatures to rebalance mineral deficiencies”
Day Trips
Day trips to any of the major attractions can be easily booked from the resort itself.
Free Shuttles
There are free shuttles to Kubu Beach, Spa and to the other amenities of the resort.

There was so much to try and to do that we were left wanting for more time on the resort.
– Overall –
If you envisaged yourself kicking back on the beach, eschewing the hubbub, dipping too many dips in the pool, sampling the Balinese cuisines, much to do beyond wandering at leisure at the beach. Ayana Resort just caters to all your needs.
Be its impeccable service, thoughtful touches, shimmering pools, enough activities to keep you busy all day and night, spa to soothe all your muscles and incredible sunsets. The resort has all the essentials for a heavenly retreat to the tropics.
THE BEST PART. So, whether you book a room at AYANA Resort and Spa, Jimbaran, Indonesia or RIMBA Jimbaran Bali by AYANA, Jimbaran, Indonesia. You actually get to visit both the resort as the amenities are shared. Amazing, isn’t that.

This might be the most luxurious hotel I’ve ever seen! I love the water feature that runs the whole way round the resort. The food looks amazing and so does the pool and the spa. And it must be amazing to climb into that beautiful bed every night!

That’s really a dream destination. I can’t call it a resort. 🙂
18 dining options are also too high. How many days you stayed there? 🙂 And who would go out if there’s so much in the resort itself?

I’ve never heard of a resort with 18 dining options! That’s insane. It makes it difficult to sample all of the options just at the resort, let alone beyond it during a stay! It is a truly beautiful property, and I certainly wouldn’t mind hanging on in the hydro therapy pool for an while…
Fiona Maclean says
Wow, that resort looks out of this world! I’d be with you and want to stay there forever! And such a great location too!

Wow, 90 acres of property and it has so much to offer. I guess a week stay in this beautiful place might not enough to explore and enjoy all the facilities. Rock bar has been on my Bali list since long, I might just include Ayana Resort instead as it more enticing overall. Thanks for the share :).
